Annual Bird Sale Dates

The Society conducts nine of the thirteen approved Annual Bird Sales.

Bird sales have, as usual, been allocated dates by agreement between the Victorian Avicultural Council (VAC) and the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE).

If a sale is cancelled due to heat, then it is allocated a later date for that year only returning to its normal time next year. Some sales have voluntarily moved to a later date permanently to avoid the heat problem.

The following Bird Sales for the Society have been approved  for 2005:

The code includes the following:

  • Only one species per cage.

  •  Short-term transport cages are permissible.

  •  No all-wire cages allowed for the transport or display of birds.

  •  Bird Sale will not proceed if the ABC 7.30pm. television weather report on the day prior predicts 32 C or higher for the day of the Bird Sale at that location.
